AIGN® travels to China

August 8, 2011

AIGN® had its annual general meeting in Kunming, China in May of 2010.  During this trip, AIGN® members were able to travel throughout China meeting with many of the horticultural governmental institutes.  The members were hosted at many of the testing facilities throughout the country.  We were able to meet up with many government officials as well as leaders in the scientific community as it relates to agriculture.  We were also able to see the results of Chinese breeding programs and the great strides that they have made within horticulture.

During our travels, arrangements were also made for us to see many of the countries special sites including: the Great Wall of China, Terracotta Warriors, the Forbidden City, and much more.  This proved to be a very educational trip for AIGN and its members.  There were many relationships built with our hosts and we would like to thank our director Lew Dagger for organizing this extensive trip.
